The Telegraph reports that Unison is bringing a legal challenge to the High Court today over the introduction of fees for employment tribunals.
The new tribunal fees, which were introduced in July, have been the subject of widespread criticism. Unison, who are being supported by the Human Rights Commission, argue that the fees are contrary to EU law and will make it virtually impossible for a worker to exercise their rights.
Dave Prentis, General Secretary of UNISON said: “Putting a price on justice is immoral and allows unscrupulous employers to ride roughshod over the employment rights of their workers.”
