Optix Solutions approached Fitzgerald HR in 2019 to support with a Resourcing and Talent Planning project as part of their recruitment process for an Operations Director.
What did Fitzgerald HR do?
Fitzgerald HR collaborated with Optix Solutions to fully understand the role they were recruiting for, and produce tailored interview questions that could enhance their recruitment process.
“When we were recruiting for an Operations Director, we knew this role would play a significant part in the company, and we wanted to make sure we had the right tools to recruit the right person for the role. Previously, we have always done our recruitment ourselves. We wanted an external expert to help us to ask the kind of questions that would help to uncover the integral qualities in the candidates that we needed for this role.
We were really happy with the quote that Fitzgerald HR provided us with. Fitzgerald HR suggested several options that we could use to enhance our project. All of the costs were broken down, which was really useful for deciding which aspects we wanted to go ahead with. It was great to be offered the full suite of options that Fitzgerald HR could offer us, and we were able to choose the ones that were most interesting to us for this project.
For example, we decided that we wanted to lead the interviews ourselves, but it was great to have the option of our consultant’s support in the interviews if we had needed it.
Fitzgerald HR provided exactly what we needed, quickly and on time. Our consultant produced interview questions that were tailored to the role, and we were able to use these for all the interviews in the process. The interview questions gave us clarity, it made it easier to evaluate each candidate based on their responses to these questions which really helped us to find the right candidate when making our decision.
Our consultant did a great job, they were very personable, and took the time to talk to us and really understand the role and what we were looking for in the successful candidate. Not only did they draft excellent interview questions, they were able to provide recommendations on the areas that the questions should focus on, so that the interviews revealed the qualities and skills that really mattered to the role.
