How we helped Pencarrie through business growth
Our longstanding relationship with the team at PenCarrie began in 2014 when they relocated from Exeter to Willand in Mid Devon. At that time, PenCarrie had approximately 100 employees, and with no in-house HR resource, they needed to outsource the HR element of the relocation process to an external HR provider.
We were appointed and managed everything from paperwork to consultations. After the successful relocation, PenCarrie began working with our team on an ongoing basis, outsourcing all their HR requirements to our team of HR consultants. We work with PenCarrie as an extension of their team to meet their day-to-day HR needs, assist with HR strategy, handbook and policy development, and deliver projects to develop the company’s people culture further.
Over the years, we’ve supported PenCarrie with more reorganisation projects such as changing the shift structure in the warehouse from 5 x 8-hour days to 4 x 10-hour days. Our HR consultants carried out the entire consultation process for this change, as well as working with union representatives and staff representatives and drafting new contracts of employment.
By 2017, PenCarrie had grown considerably. With an increased workforce, the business decided to recruit an in-house HR manager. We partnered with PenCarrie to recruit this role and a new HR Manager was appointed who then developed and grew the HR function.
Since then, the HR team at PenCarrie has expanded and continues to work with us for specific projects as and when needed. From complex employee relations cases to employee engagement initiatives, our long-lasting relationship with PenCarrie has developed a solid foundation of trust.
We have worked with Fitzgerald since 2014 and very much value our collaboration with them as a “trusted pair of hands”. The team feel like a natural extension of PenCarrie and are able to work in the way we need to best suit our business.
